InterCaribbean Airlines announces flight cancellations amidst Ernesto

InterCaribbean Airlines has announced to cancel some of its flights, on Wednesday, 14th of August 2024, due to the effects of Tropical Storm Ernesto. The disruption of services by the storm has led to the Airline putting out a notice to passengers to consider other forms of transport as flights may not be possible soon.
Several Caribbean islands are set to be affected by this storm, and the following flights that were organized for August 14 have been duly cancelled:
- Flight: JY410
Route: Tortola to Santo Domingo
- Flight: JY411
Route: Santo Domingo to Tortola
- Flight: JY522
Route: Dominica to Tortola
- Flight: JY634
Route: Antigua to Tortola
- Flight: JY633
Route: Tortola to Antigua
- Flight: JY511
Route: San Juan to Tortola
- Flight: JY510
Route: Tortola to San Juan
InterCaribbean Airlines is notifying passengers who have bookings to these affected flights to visit the airline’s website or contact the customer service for the new options to rebook for a flight and other support.
The Airlines stated that it is regrettable, however, passengers to be travelling on cancelled flights will not be able to board, and the airline is trying its best to resolve affected passengers’ complaints and regrets any inconvenience caused by such action and will post updates as and when new information is availed.
Ernesto is likely to bring heavy rainstorm, windstorm and possible disruption that may affect the airline and its passengers, hence the Airline had to take precautions. Such action is usually mandatory in order to avoid any associated perils during operation of airplanes under adverse weather conditions.
InterCaribbean Airlines is also advising passengers to monitor their flights frequently on its website to be acquainted with any other flight disruptions or cancellations.
