Five new undergraduate agriculture scholarships available in St Kitts and Nevis
The future of St Kitts and Nevis is bright, and the time to act is now.

In collaboration with Southern University, St Kitts and Nevis have made available five new undergraduate scholarships in Agriculture for the citizens in order to provide them an opportunity to gain invaluable expertise and elevate the sector to greater heights.
While shedding light on the availability of these scholarships, Minister of Agriculture Samal Duggins stated that it will play a huge role in allowing the brightest and liveliest minds of the country to pursue studies in various agriculture-related disciplines, including Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Plant and Soil Science, and Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
He stated that this initiative is a visionary approach of the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew who has reiterated his commitment to build a stronger and sustainable agriculture sector.
The agriculture minister asserted that the administration has been continuously making efforts in order to ensure food security, economic growth, and long-term development for all the citizens of the island nation.
This initiative truly aligns with their commitment to expanding access to education, fostering innovation, and cultivating a generation of professionals capable of transforming the agricultural landscape of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister Samal Duggins asserted that with these initiatives they are providing the access to have tools, knowledge, and resources to all their farmers, entrepreneurs, and agricultural leaders of tomorrow so that they can thrive in an increasingly competitive global market, elevating the agriculture sector of the nation to greater heights.
Also, Minister Duggins extended gratitude to the Southern University for their collaboration. He stated that this opportunity would open door for several people to gain expertise in agriculture sector.
And, for the same, he has encouraged all the citizens to take the best advantage of this opportunity. He asked all the citizens to work collaboratively and lead the agriculture sector of the country towards excellence, not just in the region but on the world stage.

Moreover, St Kitts and Nevis has been sharing significant partnerships as they have also signed a MoU in December 2023 with a vision to enhance the prospects of the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis. This collaboration has been continuously striving hard to provide valuable consultancy services to the Ministry of Agriculture, contributing to the enrichment of knowledge and skillsets among farmers in the Federation.
