First Caribbean Airlines flight from Trinidad to Martiqnue lands

Caribbean Airlines launched its inaugural direct flight services from Trinidad and Tobago to the French Caribbean Island of Martinique on Tuesday.

Passengers onboard the inaugural flight from Trinidad to Martinique were welcomed with lively cultural performances and unique tokens, celebrating the vibrant ties between the islands.

Grand welcoming ceremony

The first-ever flight of Caribbean Airlines from Trinidad to Martinique was welcomed with a water cannon salute.

The ceremony was attended by several delegates including, CEO of the Caribbean Airlines – Garvin Medera; the Ambassador of France to Trinidad and Tobago, Didier Chabert and Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Randall Mitchell.

4 Weekly Flights

The flight services by the Caribbean Airlines en-route from Trinidad to Martinique will be facilitated four times a week on every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday  The days on which this route will operate includes, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

As per schedule, two of these flights will be nonstop while the remaining two will operate with the layover stoppage at Barbados.

  •         BW 277: Martinique (Departure Time: 5:20 pm) – Barbados (Arrival Time: 6:15 pm)
  •         BW 277: Barbados (Departure Time: 7:00 pm) – Trinidad (Arrival Time: 8:00 pm)

Saturday

  •         BW 278: Trinidad (Departure Time: 3:45 pm) – Barbados (Arrival Time: 4:45 pm)
  •         BW 278: Barbados (Departure Time: 5:30 pm) – Martinique (Arrival Time: 6:25 pm)
  •         BW 279: Martinique (Departure Time: 7:15 pm) – Trinidad (Arrival Time: 8:40 pm)

Friday and Sunday

  •         BW 274: Trinidad (Departure Time: 4:50 pm) – Martinique (Arrival Time: 6:20 pm)
  •         BW 275: Martinique (Departure Time: 7:05 pm) – Trinidad (Arrival Time: 8:30 pm)

Services between Trinidad and Martinique to bridge gap

Shedding light on the launch of the first-ever flight services from Trinidad to Martinique, the management of the Caribbean Airlines asserted that this long-awaited connection bridges a gap that has existed for years.

They noted that this new service opens the door for travellers across the French, Spanish, Dutch, and English-speaking Caribbean to reconnect and explore the region.

 They further went on to say that these enhanced services between Trinidad and Martinique would play a vital role in creating opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange, and economic growth of both the respective regions.

Expressing excitement on the launch of services, the CEO of the Caribbean Airlines, Garvin Medera said that they are thrilled to welcome Martinique to their expanding network.

He said that their entry into the French Caribbean is a testament to their comment and dedication towards reconnecting the Caribbean to Martinique.

The CEO further went on to say that these flights are their commitment towards bridging a gap and bringing both the nations closer. He added that they are looking forward to offering a plethora of experiences to all the passengers and showcasing the diversity of cultures across the islands.

The CEO of Martinique Airport, Nathalie SEBASTIEN said that he is extremely delighted with the flight services between both nations. 

He said that with Caribbean Airlines, they are finally restoring greater connectivity, cultural, sporting and family with their brothers and sisters.

Emphasizing on the opportunities, CEO Nathalie said the newly introduced services are a great opportunity for them to showcase and promote the renowned Creole culture, breathtaking landscapes, and hospitality of the island.

Notably, the service marks a significant step undertaken by the airline with a vision to connect the Caribbean regions seamlessly and sustainably.
