Comrade Peter Thomas dies, PM Roosevelt Skerrit extend condolences
Following the demise of Comrade Peter Thomas, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit took to his official social media account and extended condolences.

Roseau, Dominica: Following the demise of Comrade Peter Thomas, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit took to his official social media account and extended condolences. He called Thomas also known as Sogofly, one of the most hardworking members of the Dominica Labour Party, who has played a significant role in benefitting the nation as a whole.
While mourning the demise of Thomas, PM Roosevelt Skerrit stated “I learnt about the death of my friend, Comrade Peter Thomas, a hardworking member of the Dominica Labour Party. It is very sad to know about the death of Sogofly.”
PM Skerrit called Comrade Peter Thomas a “champion of labour and fierce proponent” of Dominica Labour Party. He acknowledged the diligent services of Thomas and stated that he has always performed his duties in a dignified manner, with the utmost pride and love for Dominica.
He further appreciated the policies and programmes implemented by Thomas which has played a significant role in elevating the nation towards growth and development. PM Roosevelt Skerrit also acknowledged the tiring and continuous efforts of the leader for being the true pillar of strength with his exceptional leadership qualities.
He also asserted that Thomas and his pure deeds would definitely be missed by all those people who had worked closely with him for many years to advance and progress the cause of labour. He extended heartfelt and sincere condolences to the friends and family members of Comrade Peter Thomas on behalf of the Government and the entire Dominica Labour Party.
“May Thomas rest in eternal peace, and his lovers and family members find comfort in the Lord in this moment of grief,” noted PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
Moreover, Minister of Housing, Land & Urban Development, Melissa Skerrit also expressed sorrow on the demise of Thomas and recognized him as “A voice of the nation.” She appreciated and acknowledged the unwavering and unconditional loyalty of Thomas towards the Dominica Labour. She also shed light on his determination and focus towards shaping Dominica as a sustainable nation.
“Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Sogo Fly on his demise. Go with God and rest in peace,” asserted Minister Melissa Skerrit.
