Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Carnival Institute and Regional Carnival (CIRC) sent congratulations to the winners of Pan Trinbago’s Medium Conventional Bands Finals.
The latest update by the Carnival Institute, in the first place, was Katzenjammers with their selection “Tell Me Why.” In second place was NGC Joylanders, who performed “The Fete Ent Over”, and in third place was Pamberi, who performed “The People’s Champion.”
Earlier, the Carnival Institute and Regional Carnival (CIRC) was invited to attend a breakfast meeting put on by the mayor, Alderman Saleema Thomas and members of the Point Fortin Borough Council. The event was held at Garden Jewelz, Point Fortin, and the topic of the discussion was the upcoming Point Fortin Borough Day Celebrations.
The social media post by CIRC read, this year, the Borough of Point Fortin celebrates its 43rd Anniversary as a Borough on Sunday, 30th April 2023. The Borough Day celebrations have grown over the years, and celebrations promise to be a special one which seeks to offer a wide range of activities with something for everyone. These plans were unveiled today, with key stakeholders making presentations.
Some of those present at the meeting were Mayor Alderman Saleema Thomas, the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Leslie Chang Fong, Winston “Gypsy” Peters, Chairman of the NCC, Whitfield Weekes, PRO, Pan Trinbago, Ainsley King, President of TUCO and Donnamay Taylor the CEO of the Point Fortin Borough Council. Entertainment was provided by Master Xhaiden Darius, Tameika Darius and Strings, Violinist.
While concluding the post, the Carnival Institute mentioned that on hand were several Traditional Mas characters who were utilized at the entrance to the event as well as to introduce various speakers.
