Caribbean Exam Council continues the exams in Barbados

Parents and guardians have been reminded by the Barbados government through the Ministry of Educational, Technology and Vocational training that the classes in the schools have been suspended for Monday, July 5 and Tuesday, July 6.

According to the government, the Physical classes for the students for class 4th would be starting from July 7, Wednesday and Thursday, July 8. All the rest students would be attending their academics through virtual means.

The examinations scheduled for the ongoing week would be proceeding in the planned manner, stated Caribbean Examination Council. The subjects for those the examination schedules have been scheduled for July 5 were CSEC Principles of Accounts and CAPE Accounting, Chemistry, Literatures in English and Communication Studies.

The government announced that the students at the public secondary schools should be reported at their respective schools for examination at the same time the students of private schools would be reporting the Cave Hill Campus in the University of West Indies. Those students who may find it difficult to reach the allotted examination centre they might go to the nearest centre and report the examination supervisor theirs on duty. All students would be accommodated to write the examination.

Those students who might not get to any of the examination centres due to the destruction by Hurricane Elsa might inform their school’s principal and tell their teacher those who would communicate with the CXC local registrar and get further instruction.

Private candidates might call the Ministry of Education’s Examinations Section on Monday, July 5, at the given contact 535-0657, or given email cedo@mes.gov.bb, to inform any challenges they might be facing at that time.

The Ministry of Education would be doing all in its power to ensure that no student has disadvantaged during the process.

Meanwhile, principals and teaching staff would oversee any necessary clean-up at their respective schools. All ancillary and non-teaching staff members might report for duty on Monday, July 5, to assist with returning schools to a state of normalcy.
