United Kingdom’s King Charles III, 75, has been diagnosed with cancer that was found during prostate surgery. The news has been officially shared by the Buckingham Palace. However, they did not specify the form of cancer or at what stage it was found.

The news came as a shock to many people in Britain as King has generally enjoyed good health throughout the years. The palace has added that during his recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, medical practitioners noted ‘a separate issue of concern.’

As per them, ‘a subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.’ The Buckingham Palace issued a statement that the King began “regular treatments” on Monday.

According to the Palace’s statement, the crowned head of Britain has been advised by the doctors to postpone his public-facing duties due to illness. However, during this period, the monarch will continue to undertake the State business and official paperwork as usual.

If sources are to be believed, it is being said that following the announcement, the King’s estranged younger son, Prince Harry, who lived with his wife Meghan, shared that he had talked to his father about his diagnosis and he would travel to see him in the UK within few days.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, extended their wishes and speedy recovery for the King. “Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well”, he added.

The former Prime Minister of the UK, Boris Johnson, also took to his official social media handle (Twitter) to express his concern for King’s health.

“The whole country will be rooting for the King Today. Best wishes to Charles III for a full and speedy recovery,” he remarked.
