Sint Maarten Police arrests female suspect in Philipsburg fraud case

Korps Politie Sint Maarten, the Detective Department of the island nation’s Police Force have arrested a suspect in a case of fraud in Philipsburg. The accused has been identified as a female, who was found by the assigned officers during an ongoing investigation of the matter on Monday, 16 September.
The investigation started after the police force received a tip through intelligence in relation to the fraud case. The mission was launched around 06:00 AM by the police jointly with the Prosecutor’s Office personnel and other law enforcement units.
The identity of the Philipsburg fraud case suspect has not been disclosed in the public domain by the Korps Politie Sint Maarten. The only details collected about the accused are that the suspect is a female and the initials of her name are L.L.A.
Reportedly, the accused female was arrested by the Sint Maarten Police Force in the locality of Dawn Beach. The lady was found at her residence in the neighborhood, where a team of detectives went while following the clues collected during the investigation.
It is disclosed that the police team also searched the house of the suspect after her arrest. In the search, detectives found multiple items and clues from the place that were significant in the case. The items were seized and taken to the police station in Philipsburg along with the fraud accused.
Subsequently, the administrative office of the female suspect situated in Philipsburg was also searched by the law enforcement department. The lady is taken into custody, and the process of questioning about her involvement in the fraud case is ongoing.
On the basis of the interrogation the legal proceedings will take place, and the suspect will be laid with charges for the offence. The lady is expected to appear in the court for a hearing soon. The police authorities are asking locals to provide information related to the case, if they know anything.
Korps Politie Sint Maarten urged the citizens that they can contact the Detective Department in Philipsburg if they have complaints related to the matter of any clue. The police department expressed their commitment to serve justice and to limit such crimes in the future.
The locals are sharing their views on the Philipsburg fraud case and said, “I can’t believe this is taking place in my beautiful country called ST Maarten. Good job officer. Would like to know what goes on in these criminals head to make them do these things, very sad.”
