Women’s West Indies U-19 squad announced for UK tour, preparing for 2025 WC
Cricket West Indies announced a 15-player squad for the upcoming West Indies Under-19 Women’s squad tour to the United Kingdom.

Cricket West Indies announced a 15-player squad for the upcoming West Indies Under-19 Women’s squad tour to the United Kingdom. This tour will be significant as the ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup is just a few months away.
This tour is a part of team’s preparation for the World Cup 2025 and will provide valuable international experience for the players as they gear up for the competition. The matches in the United Kingdom will test the skills and abilities of each and every player in different conditions, helping to sharpen their game ahead of the big tournament.
During their tour to the UK, the West Indies Under-19 Women’s squad will compete in a series of challenging matches, including their participation in the England and Wales Cricket Board Development Tournament. In this tournament, various teams such as Scotland, Ireland, West Indies Under-19 Women’s teams will compete with a guaranteed three T20 matches on their schedule.
Along with that, the team will play three matches against an ECB Southern Under-19 Women’s team, featuring two days of T20 doubleheaders and then it will be followed by a 30-over match on the third day. The squad will be led by co-captains namely Asabi Callender and Erin Deane who will represent the best and emerging talent in the West Indies Women’s Cricket.
The Under-19 Women’s squad selected for UK Tour includes, Asabi Callender; Erin Deane (Co-Captain); Elecia Bowman; Abigail Bryce; Kenika Cassar; Dicoreya Collymore; Trisha Hardat; Theanny Herbert-Mayers; Brianna Harricharan; Danellie Manns; Jessica O’Rosco; Amrita Ramtahal; Selena Ross; Kristen Sutherland and Aaliyah Weekes.
The Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, also expressed his confidence in the team and stated that it is a stepping stone in their preparation for the ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He added that these matches against strong international teams will test their strength and help them fine-tune their strategies ahead of the international tournament.
Moreover, the Cricket West Indies announced the Team Management Unit and Steve Liburd has been announced as the Head Coach of the team. Following that, Shane Brooks will be the Assistant Coach in their tour to UK. Ashley Stephens and Yvonne Arthur have been named as the Physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach. Merissa Aguilliera has been named as the Team Manager.
The players and coaching unit have arrived in UK on 19th August 2024. And, the management are optimistic that the players will display their exceptional performances with both bat and ball. They noted that these players will also gain valuable experience on this tour as they are preparing for such international platform.
