Barbados receives nomination in World Culinary Awards, aims to make premier culinary destination

Barbados: It is a significant development for the tourism authority of Barbados as it has made its place in the nominee list of several categories of the prestigious World Culinary Awards. The nomination is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of the authority towards making its nation as the premier culinary destination in the Caribbean region.
The 5th World Culinary Awards is a global initiative which acknowledges and rewards excellence in the culinary industry through its award programme which is held every year. Notably, for 2024, the Barbados Food and Rum Festival has once again been nominated under the category of the Caribbean’s Best Culinary Festival.
Moreover, Aprille Thomas, the Director of Public Relations and Communications at BTMI stated that their name in the nominees list shed light on their dedication towards fostering the culinary tourism of the island nation.
Along with that, the city of Bridgetown also received a nomination for the Caribbean’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination. On the other hand, the Jean and Norma Holder Hospitality Institute of the Barbados Community College has also made its place in the nomination under the category of Caribbean’s Best Culinary Training Institution.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Andrea Franklin expressed her excitement on getting nominated for such prestigious awards. She stated that everyone at BTMI is beyond pleased that Barbados has yet again been recognized by the World Culinary Awards.
While talking about the nomination, she noted that this nomination is a mark of appreciation to all the sponsors, professionals, chefs and other entities who are making constant efforts to make the Barbados Food and Rum Festival a huge success and a dream weekend for all the food lovers from all over the world.
The 2024 Barbados Food and Rum Festival which has been scheduled to take place from 24th – 27th October will offer a plethora of experiences to all its attendees. The festival will feature several exciting activities which include, Liquid Gold Feast, Rise & Rum Breakfast Party, Rum Route, Chef Classics, Oistins Under the Stars, Culture of Cuisine Talks, Bajan Fair and many more in order to offer memorable experience to all their attendees.
