Minister Ernest Hilaire attends Lucian Carnival, calls it vibrant

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire, expressed happiness at witnessing the successful execution of the Kiddies Carnival.

The tourism minister lauded the splendor, colour and the enjoyment of the Carnival and stated that it truly justifies the vibrant culture and offerings of Saint Lucia. This event is a part of the Lucian Carnival which is conducted with a vision to bring the children of the country together and offer them an unforgettable experience of fun, local delicacies, rich cultural heritage and many more.

While shedding light on Kiddies Carnival, the tourism minister stated that it is the time for young revelers to take the stage. He noted that this year, the number of bands has increased to 10, with more revelers in each band.

“You cannot help but see the sheer beauty in the portrayals of the juniors, a sight to behild,” noted Dr Ernest Hilaire.

The Kiddies Carnival 2024 began with a Junior Carnival Parade which was conducted on Sunday with 10 bands participating in it. The bands who participated in this year’s parade include, Happy Fete, Nou Wivay, just us Kids, Creative Mas, Harmony, Insomiel, Xtatic, R & E, Royalties Extreme and Laughs & Giggles.

Also, Saint Lucia Carnival is a vibrant display of local culture and heritage which is almost at its culmination stage. This year’s carnival hosted several exciting events and activities and offered a plethora of experiences to all the attendees. The Saint Lucia Carnival 2024 also got successful in attracting large number of visitors from other nations as well despite the effects of Hurricane Beryl.

The Minister of Tourism also praised the entire management of the Carnival 2024 and stated that he is enjoying every bit of it. The Minister has been constantly sharing the glimpses of the events and activities being held in Carnival 2024 and sharing his experience.

Recently, he extended congratulations to the King/Queen of Calypso Finals 2024 and stated that the event immersed him in the sound of the Dennery segment, soca, and calypso. He stated that Saint Lucia Carnival is an experience, and it’s a pure culture and vibes which offers memorable experiences to all its attendees.

Notably, the winner of the Calypso Finals 2024 is TC Brown with Menell and Herb Black as the first and second runners-up. The tourism minister added that the Carnival is one of the top annual party events in the Caribbean which is filled with elaborate costumes, rhythms, parades and pure Caribbean energy.
