Jamaica: 24-year-old shot to death, investigation continues

Westmoreland, Jamaica: A 24-year-old became the victim of a fatal shooting attack that took place near his home at Whitehall in Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica on Tuesday. The cause behind the attack is not known to the authorities but they are conducting a thorough investigation to find the r reason related to the offence.
The victim who was shot to death has been identified as Brandon Hall alias ‘Shay’ or ‘Don.’ As per the details shared by the authorities, the victim had just arrived and entered his home when two men on a motorcycle rode into the lane where he lives.
Subsequently, Hall came out of the house and walked down the lane towards the motorcycle with two occupants. He held discussions with the men for 10 minutes and then the nearby residents heard a loud explosion.
When the residents of the community went out the search for the reason behind the explosion, they found Hall lying in the roadway bleeding from the wounds of the gunshot.
Following the discovery of the incident, the authorities were informed about the act of crime and they immediately responded to the matter by visiting the crime spot where they found the injured body of the victim.
They initiated the investigation by seizing the place and on examining the body they found the wounds of the gunshot over his head and right shoulder.
Straight after the injured victim, Hall was taken to the Savannna-la-mar Public General Hospital where the doctors on duty examined him thoroughly and pronounced him dead.
The assailants who fled on their motorcycle after the shooting have not been identified and caught yet by the officials. However, the authorities have promised to probe the matter in detail with the purpose of prevailing justice for the victim.
Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts expressed their concern on the news and shared their views and opinions. One person commented “So senseless. We need to get this crime situation under control and tough measures are needed together with an education push for the children. We have bred a lawless and heartless generation.”
Another person commented the following “When it comes to Westmoreland am not even sure who’s innocent because that place is Riddled with scammers.”
