interCaribbean Airways officially launched its direct and non-stop flight services from Grenada to Guyana on Sunday.
The inaugural flight took off from Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada and touched down at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Georgetown, Guyana.
These flight services will operate twice a week on every Thursdays and Sundays, aiming to provide a direct connection between both Grenada and Guyana.
Grand welcoming Ceremony
The inaugural visit by the regional air carrier from Grenada to Guyana was celebrated with a grand welcoming ceremony and a water cannon salute.
The ceremony was organized by the Guyana Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
Several tourism delegates were present on the inaugural flight including, Minister of Mobilization, Implementation and Transformation of Grenada, Andy Williams; CEO of interCaribbean Airways, Trevor Sadler and CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Petra Roach.
Flight Services to enhance relations
Shedding light on the direct flight services by interCaribbean Airways, the Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, Kamrul Baksh lauded this new connection.
While emphasizing the importance of regional travel, Tourism Minister noted that it would play a huge role in strengthening ties, boosting regional tourism and creating unforgettable travel opportunities for both countries.
He added that these services would play a vital role for the business travellers, tourists and visitors to travel, making their visit convenient and affordable.
Also, as a part of this inaugural flight, a team of 10 Grenadian media representatives and influencers will participate in a series of tourism experiences from December 1-5 in Guyana. A team of 10 Guyanese will also experience Grenada for the same period.
“Lots of amazing content are expected after these exciting familiarization trips,” noted Guyana Tourism Authority.
Schedule of interCaribbean Airways between Grenada and Guyana
As per the schedule, the Flight ERJ 145 jet will depart Grenada at 12:20 pm and arrive in Georgetown at 1:50 pm. The return flight from Georgetown is scheduled to leave at 2:35 pm, reaching Grenada at 4:10 pm.
CEO of interCaribbean Airways called these flight services, ‘Game-Changer’
Shedding light on the services between Grenada and Guyana, the CEO of the interCaribbean Airways, Trevor Sadler called it ‘a game changer’ for regional connectivity. He noted that these services would play a significant role in bridging cultures, fostering trade and opening new possibilities for tourism and business.

The travellers expressed excitement on the inaugural flight on the interCaribbean Airways between Grenada and Guyana. They took to their social media accounts and shared the warm welcome they have received.
