Guyana’s regional airline, Roraima Airways welcomed their newest aircraft, Tecnam P2012 which is all set to serve both its local and regional routes with its enhanced comfort and reliability.
The newest addition of the state-of-the-art aircraft to Guyana’s aviation sector is expected to play a significant role in enhancing regional connectivity and boosting the tourism sector of the nation.
The aircraft first landed in Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Wednesday and is being expected to continue to provide its services to the country there after.
Tecnam P2012 features
The cutting-edge twin-engine aircraft, Tecnam P2012 is specifically designed for jungle and regional flights. It was manufactured in Italy in August 2024. Notably, the aircraft was flown across the Atlantic by CEO of Roraima Airways, Captain Gerry Gouveia Jr.
He navigated the plane through a scenic route over Iceland, Greenland, and Canada, before making its way down the eastern seaboard of the United States. Their journey concluded with their arrival at their final destination, Guyana.
Shedding light on the aircraft, the CEO noted that it is built to navigate the challenging terrains of the jungle while providing unmatched comfort and luxury inside.
“It’s truly jungle on the outside, and luxury on the inside,” noted Captain Gerry Gouveia.
The Captain added that the Tecnam P2012 has been built, considering both local and regional routes. He further went on to say that this aircraft has the potential to offer a seamless travel experience to all their passengers, be it, adventurer, business traveller or regional commuter.

The CEO of the Roraima Airways, Captain Gerry Gouveia expressed excitement about the new addition, Tecnam P2012. He called this addition, a ‘game-changer’ for air travel in the Guyana region.
He added that with this new addition, they are aiming to deliver an unmatched travel experience for both local and regional journeys.
The Captain further highlighted about their exclusive amenities and said that they are committed to provide an ultimate travel experience to all the passengers.
Strengthening relations and boosting tourism of Guyana
Focusing on the services offered by Roraima Airways, the Guyana Tourism Authority noted that Tecnam P2012 would play a significant role in enhancing its services to country, making it accessible for those people as well who are living in remote areas.
The authorities of the airways said that with this new aircraft, Roraima Airways is dedicated to their commitment of providing safe, reliable and innovative travel solutions across Guyana and beyond.
