ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy 2024 lands in Guyana, welcomed by First Lady Arya Ali
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy 2024 made its way to Guyana. The trophy was welcomed by the First Lady Arya Ali. She hosted children from the Hope Children’s Home at the State House to get a glimpse of the trophy.

Georgetown, Guyana: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy 2024 made its way to Guyana. The trophy was welcomed by the First Lady Arya Ali. She hosted children from the Hope Children’s Home at the State House to get a glimpse of the trophy.
While sharing about the trophy visit to Guyana, First Lady Arya Ali took to her official Facebook account and stated “The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy has made its way to Guyana and I wanted some of our children to get a glimpse of it before the West Indies are crowned champions at the end of the tournament.”
The First Lady spent a few minutes chatting with the children and captured several photos with the prized possession. Also, she prayed and hoped for the victory of the West Indies team in the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
Following that, the trophy travelled to the largest single-drop waterfall in the world, Kaieteur Falls on Wednesday. Notably, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy 2024 is on its tour which began in March in the United States of America and since then it has visited Argentina, Brazil, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and now in Guyana.
The trophy tour to Guyana will conclude on 24th May with two public engagements, including
- George’s Cathedral: It will give the schoolchildren an opportunity to engage with this prestigious trophy.
- Kingston Seawall Esplanad, a mini-concert will take place and will offer a musical and vibrant experience to all the visitors.
Moreover, Guyana is one of the six Caribbean nations that will be hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The World Cup 2024 will take place from 1st June – 29th June, and Guyana will be hosting six matches at the Providence Stadium. The games that will take place include
2nd June 2024: West Indies vs Papua New Guinea
3rd June 2024: Afghanistan vs Uganda
5th June 2024: Papua New Guinea vs Uganda
7th June 2024: New Zealand vs Afghanistan
8th June 2024: West Indies vs Uganda
26th June 2024: Semi Finale
