Grenada Sailing week is ready to grace shores, events calendar announced

Grenada: The Sailing Week in Grenada is ready to mark the shores of the region with grace from January 28 to February 2, 2024 (Sunday to Friday).

There will be several events throughout the week and the commencement of  Grenada Sailing week will be marked by the skipper’s briefing at the Las Iguanas Carriacou Marine which is for skippers only. This will start at 6 pm. And, from 11 am to 5 pm, there is the final registration for all the skippers who must report to the registration team, even if registered through online mode. The timing for this has been set from 11 am to 5 pm at Race HQ, Carriacou Marine Tyrell Bay.

On the same day that is January 28, 2024, at 6:30 pm with the opening remarks and prize giving for Rum to Spice Race (welcome party with Barracuda) at the original Slipway Tyrell Bay.

Then, there will be a Race Day 1 starting at 9 am, which is sponsored by Sea Hawk Premium Yacht Finishes Around Carriacou at the Carriacou Marine Las Iguanas Tyrell Bay. Also, prize giving will be followed on the same day by Beach Party with Loyalty Band at the Original Slipway beachside, Tyrell Bay. 

Thereafter, On January 30, 2024 (Tuesday), Race Day 2 will be held which is sponsored by Clarkes Court Boatyard & Marine. This race will have the route from Carriacou to Grenada. The timing for this has been set at 9 am from Tyrell Bay to Le Phare Bleu Marina, Egmont.. Further, there will be a prize giving with Pirates Party on the lawn prizes for best costumes at 6 pm at The Lawn, Le Phare Bleu & Tropical Tavern.

Moreover, for January 31, various Layday activities including island tours, live music, BBQ’s beach activities and many more are scheduled at Le Phare Bleu, Egmont & Clarkes Court Boatyard, Woburn.

For the last two days of the Sailing week, Race Days 3 and 4 are scheduled which are as follows:

February 1, 2024 (Thursday)

• Race Day 3 will be held which is sponsored by Mount Gay Rum. Under this, there will be multiple South Coast races, finishing on the West Coast. And, this will start from Off Prickly Bay (Final Race Grand Anse to Port Louis Marina. The race will start at 9 am.
• At 6 pm, there will be a prize-giving party at Grenada Yacht Club.

February 2, 2024 (Friday)

• There will be a Race Day 4, which is sponsored by Island Water World. This will start from Grand Anse Port Louis Marina.
• At Prickly Bay Marina, there will be other events as well, which include Steel Pan Band at 5 pm, Prize Giving at 6 pm, overall Prize Giving at 6:30 pm. 

Under the overall prize giving, traditional Boat model trophies will be distributed to the champions and it is a wrap party.
