Dr Roosevelt Skerrit meets port workers, aims to enhance tourism sector
Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit held a meeting with the port workers on 15th May 2024. The meeting discussed several measures in order to enhance the safety and security of the ports of the island nation with a vision to attract large number of tourists.

The meeting discussed several measures in order to enhance the safety and security of the ports of the island nation with a vision to attract large number of tourists.
The glimpses of the meeting were shared by PM Roosevelt Skerrit on his Facebook account. His discussions with the workers shed light on his commitment towards enhancing the tourism sector of the country by welcoming large number of visitors through the cruises.
In the cruise season 2023/24, the island nation welcomed several cruises which witnessed the arrival of large number of passengers in the cruise ports of the island nation. The cruise ports including, Roseau, Woodbridge Bay and Portsmouth, offers a plethora of experiences to all the tourists, ensuring their visit memorable and comfortable.
Dominica welcomed various cruises in the last cruise season, including MSC Seaside, MV Mein Schiff 4, SY Sea Cloud II, and many more. The leader of the nation highlighted better relations with such cruises and promised to strengthen their ties for future collaboration.
Tourism has always been the backbone of the country; therefore, this meeting is a testament to the tiring efforts of the PM Skerrit towards elevating the island nation to greater heights.
During the meeting, the attendees held several discussions aiming to expand the tourism sector, the cleanliness of all the ports, and the measures to provide a comfortable and sustainable environment to all the attendees.
The meeting also emphasized on conducting several activities and amenities for the visitors in order to provide them seamless travel experience. During the meeting, PM Roosevelt Skerrit appreciated the port authorities for their welcoming nature and for providing the tourists with the best amenities.
Moreover, he also urged the authorities to continue to take measures to enhance their advanced facilities which could play a huge role in attracting visitors to the country. He also appreciated the notable figures of the visitors embarked on different cruise ports of the island nation and promised to double the numbers in the following year.
