9 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Dominica

New COVID-19 data has been issued by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment, Dominica. The data reveals that due to an increase in active cases, the total active cases of COVID-19 have moved to 9. With this, Dominica has a total of 9 active cases of the COVID-19 virus, with 0 death till now in Dominica. Dominica had 1.0% of positivity rate.
From the day pandemic hit Dominica, the health department have tested 21,432 people, out of which 21,214 were reported negative, and 218 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 virus.
From the starting of tracing the contacts, if they are infected or not, the government identified 60 contacts, and all were cleared. Now 60 persons are quarantined.

In Dominica, 20,892 people received their first shot of vaccine and 19,661 have been fully vaccinated with having 2 shots, according to the report.
Till 17 June, total doses of vaccine administered to Dominica 38,646 vaccine doses have been administered.
Dominica, on 6 April 2021, received 28,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX Facility.
The government provided their COVID-19 Hotline numbers for assisting the citizens (767)448-2151, (767) 448-2153, (767) 448-2156, (767) 611-4325, 1800-219 with the data given by the Health Ministry.
The government of Dominica on 1 March, the first case in the country and the Caribbean, was confirmed. A 62-year-old man from Italy entered the country on 22 February and fell ill on 24 February, when he was transferred to Ramón Lara military hospital from the beach resort of Bayahibe. The second case was found when A Canadian tourist was tested positive.
The released COVID-19 data of Dominica also shows that there are a total of 170,695,962 confirmed cases of COVID-19 all around the world, out of which 152,688,588 instances have been recovered. The death count reported due to COVID-19 has reached 3,550,234 across the globe.
