Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge, the cricketers from Dominica have been named in West Indies squad for their upcoming tour to Australia. The test will be played from 17 January to 29 January 2024 as a part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Notably, the 15-member squad was announced by the West Indies Cricket on 20 December 2023. West Indies Cricket has named Kraigg Brathwaite as the captain of the team and Alzarri Joseph has been announced as the new Vice-captain of the team.

While shedding light on the unavailability of a few players, the lead selector of the West Indies, Dr Desmond Haynes, stated that their squad had been minorly affected as Jayden Seales was not available for the selection due to his injury. Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers were unavailable because they preferred to explore more opportunities for the T20 franchise in the month of January.

However, he added that the players selected in the squad have shown their complete zeal and enthusiasm and have passed each test to be a part of the team.

It was also mentioned by Haynes that the Australia team is always a challenge, but they are confident about their team as well and they are ready to face each challenge on the field.

The Schedule of the match is as follows:

From 17-21 January: 1st Test will be played at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.

(Start time: 15-20 January at 7:30 pm as per Eastern Caribbean and 6:30 at Jamaica)

From 25-29 January: 2nd Test will be played at Gabba, Brisbane.

(Start time: 12 midnight as per Eastern Caribbean and 24-28 January at 11 pm of Jamaica)

Moreover, after the test series, West Indies will face Australia in three one-day internationals and three T20 Internationals. The squad for the same has not been announced yet by the West Indies Cricket.
