                                                    The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service informed the citizens that Tropical Storm Beryl is approximately 1785 km east of the island nation. They have asked all the residents to remain cautious and follow precautionary measures in order to safeguard them from its disastrous effects.
As per the information shared by Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service, the storm was located at 9.3ºN latitude and 43.6ºW longitude. As per the National Hurricane Center, Beryl is forecasted to strengthen into a Category 1 or 2 hurricane as it is racing towards the Windward Islands on Monday.
Moreover, the overall atmospheric and oceanic conditions is continuing to appear conducive for steady strengthening during the next few days. The official forecast calls for strengthening and shows the storm becoming a hurricane by Sunday afternoon before it reaches the Windward islands.
Notably, the system poses no direct threat to Trinidad. However, Tobago lies on the southern edge of the cone as there is low to medium from 30% to 50% chances of Tropical storm appearing in Tobago. As per Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service the initial outlook for the country is cloudy skies with showers and medium which could lead to high chance of thunderstorm activity by Monday, 1stJuly 2024.
There are currently no alerts, watches or warnings in effect for Trinidad and Tobago. But still, the citizens have been asked to listen to all the warning messages and remain informed from the relevant local authorities and follow the precautionary measures.
Notably, the Hurricane Season runs in the Caribbean nations from 1st June to 30th November every year. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gave a prediction in May that an above-normal 2024 Atlantic hurricane season could see 17 to 25 named storms including 13 hurricanes. As per the details, Beryl is forecasted to crash into Caribbean by Monday. Therefore, the citizens are asked to remain vigilant and implement preventive measures.
