Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Three suspects were arrested for the possession of a Gun, Marijuana and Ecstasy on Tuesday during several anti-crime operations, which were conducted across T&T.
Notably, in the first incident, the police officials of the North Eastern Division Gang Investigations Unit conducted an exercise in the Aranguez district, and they recovered one Glock pistol loaded with the magazine from an 18-year-old boy.
It is to be noted that the magazine was found with 12 rounds of ammunition, and the accused was identified as a resident of Tunapuna.
As per the reports of Trinidad and Tobago Police Services (TTPS), the officers of the Pinto Police Post conducted an Operation Blue Line exercise on the same day between 5 pm and 9 pm in the district. They went to the abandoned apartment in the vicinity of Boodoo Avenue.
Noting this, the officers conducted a search, and they discovered 119 packages which contained 64 kilogrammes of marijuana.
Meanwhile, the ranks of the Task Force conducted a search in the Northern Division of the South Area in the Aranguez district between 10 am and 2 pm. In due course of time, they stopped a silver Nissan Tiida motor vehicle driven by two male occupants.
During the exercise, the investigating officers found 5-litre plastic bottles which contained Ecstasy. Notably, two men, ages 22 and 24, were taken into custody in connection with the findings.
Moreover, the investigation of the matter is ongoing, and multiple questions are being asked of the suspects regarding their charges.
The information of this case is shared by TTPS through their official Facebook handle. Many people expressed their viewpoints by commenting on the post.
One such user named Clevon Sterling wrote, “Good work, TTPS.”
While some showed their delight for the T&T police for their initiatives to exempt crimes in the country, some expressed their displeasure as such stances of crimes are not new in the region as similar crimes are happening on every alternative day, and there is no such strict law to deal with them.
While reacting to the news, another FB user by the name of Tony Sinclair remarked, “But TTPS might already have those portable tests for different type of drugs out in the filed, or at least back in station? Also, the police probably just asked them what it was (plz do make me write a novel about that sentence?) or maybe the police already knew them as the guys with the Ecstasy?
