St Lucia: On Thursday, May 5, a press conference was held at the St Lucia Tourism Authority to announce the organization’s commitment to supporting private promoters in their quest to rekindle St Lucia Jazz events in the month of May.
The St Lucia Tourism Authority pledged its support to two jazz events, Jazz ‘n The City, scheduled to take place on May 14 in Constitution Park, and The St Lucia Jazz Sampler, slated for May 27 and 28 at Sandals Grande St Lucian. The authority is the Title Sponsor for the St Lucia Jazz Sampler, which is celebrating its 8th season.
The announcement of these events after more than a two-year hiatus is great news for St Lucia and will set the stage for the resurgence of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival on May 5 – 14, 2023.
In attendance were Cheryl Pitcairn of Sisterhood, Lydia Theobalds of Sisterhood, Thaddeus M Antoine, Chairman of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Lorine St Jules, CEO of the St Lucia Tourism Authority, Lorraine Sidonie, CEO of Events St Lucia, Staff of SLTA and Staff of ECSL. Also present were the local media as well as the regional and international media via a virtual conferencing platform.
The opportunity to collaborate with The Saint Lucia Jazz Sampler, Jazz N The City, and the creative sector, is helping to place more spotlight on our local talents as the lineup for both events is predominantly St. Lucian artists.
Gold Sponsors for the Saint Lucia Jazz Sampler are Events Company of Saint Lucia, LUCELEC, and Republic Bank. Silver Sponsors are St Lucia Distillers, Daher Broadcasting Services (DBS), and Helen Television Systems (HTS).
