St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have engraved their name in the history of cricket by becoming the new Champions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have engraved their name in the history of cricket by becoming the new Champions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021.
This is for the first time that St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have won the title of CPL. Last year the title was won by Trinbago Knight Riders. Patriots made the win over the St Lucia Kings with three wickets.
Kings managed to score 159 at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, while Patriots scored 160 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Saint Lucia Kings won the toss and chose to bat first as they did in their semi-final match.
The Patriots somehow managed to successfully chase their target, with Dominic Drakes, who turned out to be, scoring 48 off 24 balls and securing an impressive run in the last ball of the match to lead his team towards the historic win.
Out of the 160 runs scored for St Kitts and Nevis, (Drake scored 48 not out, Da Silva- 37; Riaz – 2/36, Chase – 1/17) beat Saint Lucia Kings 159/7 (Cornwall – 43, Chase – 43; Naseem – 2/26, Fawad – 2/32) by 3 wickets.
The squad of – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots showed tremendous performance throughout the CPL tournament – Rayad Emrit(c), Fabian Allen, Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Dominic Drakes, Devon Thomas, Colin Archibald, Mikyle Louis, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Dwayne Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell, Asif Ali, Ravi Bopara, Fawad Ahmed, Paul van Meekeren, Joshua Da Silva, Sherfane Rutherford, Naseem Shah.
Saint Lucia Kings squad included – Faf du Plessis(c), Andre Fletcher (w), Wahab Riaz, Jeavor Royal, Keron Cottoy, Rahkeem Cornwall, Obed McCoy, Mark Deyal, Roston Chase, Javelle Glen, Alzarri Joseph, Kesrick Williams, Kadeem Alleyne, Samit Patel, Tim David, Keemo Paul, Usman Qadir.
Fans of cricket are happy over the win of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, although the match was interesting and made it difficult for the viewers till the end to guess which team will take the title this year.
