Saint Lucia: Meet Kaitlyn Holder, Maliyah Henry – outstanding swimmers of Southern Flying Fish Club
A swim club based in the south of Saint Lucia, Southern Flying Fish – Swim Club, informed about the most outstanding swimmer of the year 2022 on January 16, 2023.

Saint Lucia: A swim club based in the south of Saint Lucia, Southern Flying Fish – Swim Club, informed about the most outstanding swimmer of the year 2022 on January 16, 2023. While introducing Kaitlyn Holder, the club mentioned that Kaitlyn Holder, fondly called Kaitlyn, has quickly proven herself to be a swimmer who is highly competitive, confident and not afraid to say what she is thinking. Kaitlyn has proudly represented Southern Flying Fish and Saint Lucia on two national teams in 2022.
The club further claimed that, namely, the Goodwill Swim Meet in Trinidad and Tobago, where over the three days of competition, Kaitlyn participated in seven (7) individual events and was able to achieve personal best times in four (4) events.
According to the post shared by the Southern Flying Fish Club, she was also a reserve on the Saint Lucia Team for the 30th OECS Swimming Championships in November 2022.
Furthermore, it informed about her victories and stated, “Since returning to swimming in January of 2022, Kaitlyn has had many achievements on the local swimming circuit in the girls’ 11-12 age group category.”
Out of all the victories of Kaitlyn Holder, the most notable are:
– 3rd Place – High Points Winner, SLAF Independence Swim Meet, March 2022
– 3rd Place – High Points Winner, 21st Annual RHAC Swim Meet, April 2022
– 1st Place – Saint Lucia Aquatic Federation, Open Water Carnival, 1K – June 2022
– 3rd Place – Capri Sun National Championships, October 2022
– 1st Place – High Points Winner, Lucian Grand Prix, RHAC Swim Meet, December 2022
The swim club also introduced Maliyah Henry, who is intrinsically motivated and has been a consistent performer for the entire year of 2022. As per the update by the club, she is currently the only swimmer in Southern Flying Fish to have not been DQ, in any event, this past year. She is currently our fastest female swimmer in freestyle, breast and butterfly strokes, as well as the fastest swimmer, male or female, in Backstroke or 200 IM.
“Maliyah represented Southern Flying Fish and Saint Lucia proudly as a member of the Goodwill Swim team in Trinidad and Tobago in 2022,” the club stated. It added that she participated in five (5) individual events and was able to achieve personal best times in four of these events. She was also a member of the girl’s 15 – 17 relay team and became a three-time bronze medalist in the 400-meter medley relay, the 400-meter freestyle relay and the 200-meter freestyle relay. This was Maliyah’s fourth time being selected for a National team.
While stating about the victories of Maliyah, the club stated that since returning to swimming in January of 2022, Maliyah has had the following highlights during the 2022 swim season in the 15 to 17 girls age group:
– 3rd Place – High Points Winner, 21st Annual RHAC Swim Meet, April 2022
– 1st Place – Saint Lucia Aquatic Federation, Open Water Carnival, 800 meters, June 2022
– Winner of Karen Beaubrun award, Karen Beaubrun Swim Meet June 2022
– 5th Place – High Points Winner – Lucian Grand Prix, RHAC Swim Meet, December 2022
