Nominees announced for 42nd Annual Sports Awards of Saint Lucia
The nation is all set to host the 42nd Annual Sports Awards. It is to be noted that the shortlisted nominees have been announced by the Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia.

Saint Lucia: The nation is all set to host the 42nd Annual Sports Awards. It is to be noted that the shortlisted nominees have been announced by the Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of the country.
The event is conducted with the motive of acknowledging and celebrating the outstanding achievements of athletes throughout the year 2023. The Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia extended congratulations and best wishes to all the shortlisted nominees for their final selection.
The Annual Sports Awards recognizes the talents of those athletes who are working really hard to bring glory to their name and their nation. Such kind of recognition also promotes various good qualities among sportspersons like leadership, commitment, discipline, teamwork and a passion towards their sports and the nation.
Following are the athletes who are on the shortlist for the prestigious awards of Saint Lucia Annual Sports Awards
The nominees shortlisted for the Sports Man of the Year, including
- Jayhan Odlum Smith
- Johnson Charles
- Michael Joseph.
The shortlisted nominees for Junior Sports Man of the Year
- DeAndre Calderon
- Antoine Destang
- Denzel Phillip
The nominees shortlisted for Sports Woman of the Year, including

- Julien Alfred
- Qiana Joseph
- Mikaili Charlemagne
The shortlisted nominees for Junior Sports Woman of the Year
- Naomi London
- Zaida James
- Fayth Jeffrey

Notably, last year, at the 41st National Sports Awards, Jayhan Odlum-Smith and Julien Alfred were awarded Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year for their excellent performances in Swimming and Athletics, respectively.

Moreover, Tristan Dorville and Mikaili Charlemagne were awarded Junior Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year for their contribution to Swimming.
This year, as well, three of them have been shortlisted for the list of nominees and are looking forward to possibly claiming the award.
The awards will be presented to the deserving candidate in order to recognize and reward his/her excellence in sports, highlighting extraordinary performance at the national competitive events. Such kinds of events also play a pivotal role in encouraging sportsmanship and promoting nation-building by creating a sense of national pride and unity.
