St Lucia: The Caribbean nation commemorated its 43rd Independence Day on Tuesday, 22nd February.
On the 43rd Independence Day of St Lucia, Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit has extended a greeting to the government and people of the country.
“I extend warm felicitations and greetings to the government and people of St Lucia on their 43rd Independence Day,” Prime Minister Skerrit mentioned.
PM Skerrit further cherished the relationship and partnership between both nations. He stated that the close partnership has been built upon trust, respect and shared values.
“Dominica and St Lucia cherishes close partnership built upon trust, respect and shared values. Happy Independence Day,” wished the PM.

Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire also greeted the citizens of St Lucia and said, “Happy 43rd Independence Anniversary to all Saint Lucians! Today, I had the honour to deliver our Independence Address at the Stage of Nations at Expo Dubai. I am pleased to share a copy of the speech for your listening pleasure.”
The Secretary-General of CARICOM – Dr Carla Barnett, also conveyed congratulations on behalf of CARICOM to the residents and Prime Minister of St Lucia.
Barnett stated, “I wish to convey congratulations to the Government and People of Saint Lucia on the country’s 43rd Anniversary as an independent nation.”
He further outlined the country’s role in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet and said, “Honourable Prime Minister, Saint Lucia’s role as the lead country for Sustainable Development (including Environment and Disaster Management and Water) in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet has been of great value to the Community.”
CARICOM SG Barnett further praised the partnership between the nation and the Caribbean Community.
“On congratulating Saint Lucia, I reaffirm my own commitment and that of the staff of the CARICOM Secretariat to working with you and your Government to realize the aspirations of your nation.”
The Commission of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) asserted, “We extend to the Government and people of Saint Lucia warmest congratulations on the occasion of the nation’s 43rd Anniversary of Independence on Tuesday, February 22nd 2022.”
While wishing St Lucia, the UK Diplomats in the Caribbean stated that “Happy 43rd Anniversary of Independence St Lucia! On behalf of HC of UK Scott FW, Resident British Commissioner LM Saunderson & the entire UK in Caribbean team, we extend warmest congratulations & best wishes to all celebrating this momentous occasion.”
Caribbean Culture also wished “Happy Independence Day St Lucia” and shared the picture of a face painted with St Lucia’s flag.
Caribbean Students Association mentioned, “Happy Independence Day, St Lucia! We extend to you our best wishes as you celebrate your 43rd year of sovereignty. We wish all St Lucians a phenomenal day as you honor the resilience and advancement of your country.”
