This project aims at supporting the training of primary level teachers in the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) curriculum in Trinidad and Tobago. Considerably, the training will utilize VAPA methods to help disseminate information on the country’s (Trinidad and Tobago) culture, history, and local tourism product .

Such an information will be circulated by mixed delivery methods that is:

  • Virtual, and
  • In person engagement

Importantly, The Creative Caribbean project is implemented by UNESCO. However, it is funded by the ACP EU culture programme. This programme supports culture and creativity as the drivers of economic and human development.

UNESCO’s Contribution towards the development of Caribbean

UNESCO is committed towards the growth and development of the Caribbean. The developmental actions are not only being for any particular Island. Although, each Island is being considered. Such an action is also taking the region towards the fulfillment of Sustainable development Goals.

Significantly, the organization a few days back took an action for women empowerment through financial literacy where the members from almost every Caribbean Island marked their participation.

Moreover, earlier this month, Saint Lucia experts in water and disaster management met to discuss the preventive measures. Also, UNESCO handed over radio in box equipment in the country to enhance the capacity across the region. This gives privilege to connect communities through the power of communication.

This is not the limit, as UNESCO is even working towards bringing a multidisciplinary, universal and holistic approach to the development of artificial intelligence for the sustainable development.

Such a dedication of the organization evidently states that the workings being done by it is completely marking towards the holistic development of the Caribbean region.

Climate issues are being addressed in recent days for which the organization has already provided the financial support. The helping hand of UNESCO is offering major advantages to the Caribbean for growth by every means. The discussions of 28th session of Conference of Parties (COP28) is a great evidence of this.
