Following the hospitalization of the gunshot victim at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales, the authorities have imposed a lockdown there for the safety and security of the victim.

Turks and Caicos: Following the hospitalization of the gunshot victim at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales, the authorities have imposed a lockdown there for the safety and security of the victim, staff and other patients.
The Cheshire Hall Medical Centre has currently heightened the security measures and have suspended any sort of visit by the outsiders to its in-patient unit. This decision has been taken in response to the incident and with an aim to prioritize the safety of its staff, patients and visitors.
The admitted person was admitted after being injured at the shooting incident that occurred near the South Dock Road in Providenciales.
The officials of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are still investigating the shooting incident, and the officials shared that they were informed about the incident around 12:58 PM. When they reached the site, they found out that the victim had been shifted to the medical facility where he was undergoing treatment.
The Medical staff present at the facility shared that the wound on the victim appeared to be a gunshot.
According to the statement shared by the authorities of the hospital, despite the lockdown implementation at the medical Centre several other services at the hospital, which include the emergency department, surgical and routine outpatient clinics, X-rays, and laboratory services are still open for access.
Further, the administration of the hospital has apologized for the inconvenience caused due to keeping up with the security measures. They shared that the updates will be provided to the public as any development occurs.
In addition, the Police authorities are urging the public to stay cautious and immediately inform the Police regarding the illegal activities, the contact can be made by either going to the nearest police station or reporting anonymously through the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
The authorities have encouraged the public to use the Crime Stoppers P3 app to share information discreetly, keeping in mind the safety of the informant.
