Tropical Storm expected to pass through Saint Lucia this week

The prevailing tropical disturbance in the Central Tropical Atlantic region, concerns the Government of Saint Lucia. This disturbance is expected to become a tropical storm by the end of the week.
The Saint Lucian government has thus urged the general public to take adequate precautions.
The Saint Lucian Meteorological Services is closely monitoring the tropical disturbance and has given its views and warnings on the same. The Meteorological Services has advised that with the development of the system of environmental conditions, it is most likely to turn into a tropical storm or tropical depression by the weekend.
The positioning of the same has been warned to be hundreds of miles to the east of the Windward Islands.
The Saint Lucian Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre, has advised the population of the region to take cautions and make relevant preparations for the environmental disturbance and also review their family emergency plans.
The Meteorological Services has given the weather report for the next 24 hours. Wind to blow from the east at nearly 31km/h or 20 mph. The sky to be partly cloudy and scattered thunderstorms and rainfall.
Keeping the projected weather developments in view, it is anticipated that worsened sea conditions and weather to initiate in the Lesser Antilles from Sunday night. The weather is forecast to bring about moderate to heavy rainfall, blustery winds and thunderstorms to the region.
Requesting the publics to stay safe, the Prime Minister has also announced the authorized sources for the natives to monitor updates and stay informed.
The authorized sources are the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) and the Saint Lucia Meteorological Services, as they provide accurate information of the situation and related guidance.
All the national as well as the local emergency organizations are asked to be standby along with the National Emergency Management Advisory Committee (NEMAC) for a possible meeting on the situation.
