Trinidad and Tobago: Two held for breaking and entering

Two men from Trinidad and Tobago were apprehended for the offence of breaking and entering as well as robbery during the exercise conducted by the officials of the Central and Port of Spain divisions on Tuesday, 19 December 2023.
Notably, the North area task force conducted the first exercise between 1:30 pm and 3:15 pm. They moved towards the Longdenville district due to a report of a robbery with aggravated assault.
While conducting the anti-crime exercise, the authorities conducted search operations at the premises of various people. Subsequently, they arrested one person, a 22-year-old resident of Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas in connection to this.
The officers involved in the exercise are the officials of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Central Division Crime Scene Investigators and Central CID Operations.
Moreover, another exercise was conducted by the authorities of the Gang and Intelligence Unit and Canine Branch in the Port of Spain Division between 3 pm to 7:10 pm. During the exercise, the higher-ranked officers of Trinidad and Tobago moved towards the Beetham Gardens district. They held a search there and arrested one male suspect for the offence of breaking and entering.
Further, a 20-year-old man from Beetham Gardens was also arrested for a similar instance of crime. The investigation is ongoing by the authorities.
Furthermore, a day before, Trinidad and Tobago officers held one more exercise and arrested three people and seized Firearms, ammunition and narcotics.
The authorities of the North Central Division conducted an intelligence-led exercise between 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Monday, 18 December 2023, in the Arouca district, and the officers found a large quantity of contraband, lighters, marijuana and a tracking vehicle which appears to be a tracker. The officials arrested one man with the findings.
It is to be noted the ranked officers arrested a 46-year-old man for the offence of robbery and recovered a stolen cell phone.
The officials also discovered a bag, which contained a rifle outfitted with a magazine and 13 rounds of ammunition. The authorities also found cocaine from the suspect and arrested him in connection with the things discovered by the officers.
