Trinidad and Tobago officers seized firearm, ammunition and marijuana of $300K

The authorities of Trinidad and Tobago conducted an exercise in the Central Division and found firearms, ammunition and $300K worth of Marijuana. The owners of the items discovered are not known.

Trinidad and Tobago: The authorities of Trinidad and Tobago conducted an exercise in the Central Division and found firearms, ammunition and $300K worth of Marijuana. The owners of the items discovered are not known. 

As per the details, the officials from the Freeport CID, Freeport Warrants section held an intelligence-led- exercise. During the exercise, they conducted a search of a vacant lot along Orange Field Road, Carapichaima.

While conducting the search of the area, the officials discovered 50 marijuana trees with an estimated street value of $300K. Along with that, they also found a black plastic bag which contained several items including, one black firearm fitted with the magazine, containing five rounds of ammunition. 

All the items seized by the officers were conveyed to the Couva Police Station. The officers have promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to find out the owner of the items found by the authorities. 

Notably, the exercise was conducted by Senior. Superintendent Simon, Superintendent Gyan, Supt. Baird, Asp. Ablavksingh, Inspector. Estrada. The matter is supervised by Sgt Mohammed and Sgt Harriot. 

All the officers are continuing with the process of enquiries and have asked the residents of the community to share the information with them if they have any regarding the owner of all these items discovered. 

Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and appreciated the authorities for continuously conducting such exercises in order to tackle increasing crime rates and activities. 

One person commented “Great work by authorities, but start taking serious actions against such culprits because these offences have become very common in the island nation.”

Another person commented the following “Great job Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, catch the guilty as soon as possible and punish him soonest.”

The residents of the island nation have requested the administration to take stringent measures against the increasing usage of illegal guns and narcotics. As such instances are setting really bad examples for the upcoming generation, therefore, the citizens have demanded strict actions against such offences.
