Trinidad and Tobago: KMAN 6ixx granted $40,000 bail

Trinidad and Tobago: Kashif Sankar alias KMAN 6ixx was granted $40,000 bail with a surety after he was charged with the offences under the Anti-Gang Act 4 of 2021. It is to be noted that the charges which were read against him were Being a Gang Member Contrary to Section 5 (1)(b) and professing to be a gang member contrary to Section 5(1)(d).

The accused was presented before Master Margaret Sookraj-Goswami at the North High Court, where he was granted bail.

As per the information, the arrest and charges stem from the thorough investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Unit Gang Enforcement Team Gang Enforcement Team. They held the investigation on the videos posted by artist Kman 6ixx in his social media platforms.

According to the details, the inquiry spanned from March 2023 to the present and since then, “he has been observed singing and using expressive gestures in videos that evidently instigate violence and promoted the Sixx gang, accompanied by his alleged self-professed affiliation as a gang member to intimidate the public.”

Notably, on Friday, the authorities from the Special Investigations Unit conducted an operation with various units at Clifton Lane, St Paul Street, Port-of-Spain area. Subsequently, the officers executed a warrant at Kashif Sankar’s premises, resulting in his arrest along with two women.

The two women have been identified as Nikita Payne and Aryan Sankar. All three were charged with the offence of Possession of Ammunition. The two women were also granted bail with surety in the sum of $10,000.

Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the matter. One person with a Facebook account commented, “Good work, but I think u people need to go hard and fast to clean up this mess of vomit that has infested our school and society and the community at large. Keep working hard, and don’t stop fighting to rid our country of such evil people.”

Another person, while raising questions about the other gang members, commented the following: “So wait, where are the rest of the other gangs & members and leaders.”
