Trinidad and Tobago, CAF Development Bank of Latin America signs two agreement
Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago – Dr Keith Rowley, participated in the signing of four (4) agreements with the CAF Development Bank of Latin America.

Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago – Dr Keith Rowley, participated in the signing of four (4) agreements with the CAF Development Bank of Latin America. The agreement signing ceremony was hosted at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, on 15th November 2022 (Tuesday).
According to the government of Trinidad and Tobago, the signing agreements were signed for two loans, one for drainage and a second for digital transformation. This meeting also witnessed a new agreement on immunities and privileges. These agreements were signed by the Minister of Finance of Trinidad and Tobago – Colm Imbert, and the Executive President of CAF Development Bank – Sergio Diaz-Granados.

According to the government of Trinidad and Tobago, the agreement for the digital economy was signed to support the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the digital economy for society. The funds through this agreement will help the government in delivering efficient services to the general public, along with fostering digital inclusion. Both authorities signed a loan of around USD 120 million.
The second loan was signed to advance the drainage works in Caroni, Caparo, South Oropouche and North Oropouche basins and the capital city Port of Spain. The drainage works will be financed through a loan of USD 40 million.

Besides these, an Immunities and Privileges Agreement was signed. The agreement was designed to facilitate the Regional Office operations of CAF.
On the same day, the CAF Development Bank signed another agreement with The West Indies University, Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, Pro Vice-Chancellor, as well as Principal for the UWI St Augustine Campus, for a USD 10 million grant.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Regional Manager of CAF Bank for the Caribbean, Dr Stacy Richards Kennedy; Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator Dr Amery Browne; Corporate Vice President of Strategic Programming, Christian Asinelli, as well Trinidad and Tobago Development Bank of Latin America Representative, Gianpiero Leoncini.
