The Republic of Cuba witnessed a massive and powerful explosion on Friday. The blast destroyed a five-star hotel in central Havana, which tore off the façade, blew out the windows, and destroyed the cars standing at the parking site.
As per the eyewitnesses, after the explosion, a massive cloud of dust and smoke was seen in the area of around 1 to 2 km.
Reportedly, the Havana hotel blast was caused because of a gas leak. The death toll of the blast has been increased to 40, and many others have been hospitalized with minor and major injuries.
The rescue operation is underway, and ambulances and fire trucks tirelessly work at the scene. Police cordoned off the area and dispersed people who swarmed to the site.
