Saint Lucian PM Philip J Pierre meets with Foreign Ministers at sidelines of 78th UNGA
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, who is currently in New York City to attend the 78 UNGA, recently met with some global leaders.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, who is currently in New York City to attend the 78 UNGA, recently met with some global leaders. These interactive sessions with the Foreign Ministers of different nations were scheduled during the sidelines of the UNGA Meeting.
Prime Minister Pierre shared a glimpse of every meeting through his official Facebook handle. He further expressed his gratitude towards the ministers and their respective governments. According to the official update, it has been anticipated that these discussion sessions will be the catalyst for strengthening diplomatic relations.
As per the update shared by the Prime Minister, to date, he has attended three meetings with Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Indonesia, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.
While expressing his gratitude towards the Minister of Indonesia, PM Pierre noted, “My bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister, H.E. Retno Marsudi, sought to deepen Saint Lucia’s diplomatic relations with the Republic of Indonesia.”
His social media post further emphasised that as countries are vulnerable to the effects of climate change, he looks forward to both nations’ cooperation in confronting these challenges for the security of the local people.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister outlined that, like always, he felt delighted following his meeting with the Foreign Affairs Minister for Taiwan. He mentioned, “It is always a pleasure to meet with the Foreign Minister of Taiwan, H.E. Joseph Wu. Saint Lucia and Taiwan continue to enjoy diplomatic relations and a relationship based on mutual respect and the right of self-determination.”
Furthermore, he wrote, “I look forward to continuing our cooperation for the good of the people whom we serve.”
In addition to this, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre mentioned his meeting and discussion with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister, through his official Facebook, said, “I met with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, as we discussed plans to strengthen the relationship between our countries for the benefit of our people.”
Prime Minister Philip J Pierre has been gathering love and support from many of the Saint Lucian locals for such high-level representation of his homeland. Some of them took the comment section of the posts and expressed their views and gratitude towards their leader.
It is to be noted that the Prime Minister will be in New York, the United States of America, till September 26, 2023. By this time, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia – Dr Ernest Hilaire, will serve as the PM for the nation.
