Saint Lucian cricketers seal for West Indies Women “A” Team to Pakistan Tour
Saint Lucian cricketers secured a spot for West Indies Women “A” Team to Pakistan Tour from October 17- November 8.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucian cricket players Qiana Joseph and Zaida James grip the position for the first-ever West Indies Women’s “A” Team tour to Pakistan. The tournament is set to begin from October 17- November 8, 2023.
They will be part of 15- a member squad team.
The teams are being spearheaded by Shane Deitz as a “Head Coach”, Rashada William as “Captain”, and Ashmini Munisar as “Vice-Captain”.
Captain Rashada Williams headed the Women’s T20 Blaze and CG United Women’s
Super50 Cup earlier this year and showcased his good leadership throughout the matches. His leadership could be seen during the Women’s CPL also.
Schedule of the Matches:
- The first-ever West Indies Women’s “A” Team tour will hallmark Three 50-over matches played against Thailand and Pakistan “A” in Muridke at the Lahore Country Club.
- The preliminary matches are finalised to be played at Lahore Country Club.
- The teams who will qualify for the finals are set to play the Finale at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The 15-member squad team will consist of many other cricketers as well, some of them are:
- Jahzara Claxton
- Rashada Williams
- Cherry Ann Fraser
- Sheneta Grimmond
- Xaida James
- Qiana Joseph
- Mandy Mangru and many more.
Ann Browne-John, Lead Selector for Women’s and Girls Cricket, expressed her gratitude for the forthcoming match. She is pleased to observe that the Team “A” tour to Pakistan is a welcome addition to the calendar as it will offer an opportunity for the developing players to get international experience.
About Qiana Joseph:
Qiana Joseph is a Saint Lucian left-arm pace bowler who plays for Barbados Royals and Windward Islands. In May 2017, she played for the Women’s Cricket World Cup and the West Indies Squad.
The same year, her Women’s One Day International debut for West Indies against South Africa.
In 2018, she replaced Sheneta Grimmond for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament, which was held in the West Indies.
One of her most recent achievements includes the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 tournament, which was played against Zimbabwe.
About Zaida James:
Zaida James is a Saint Lucian Cricketer who plays in the Twenty20 Blaze and Women’s Super50 Cup for the Windward Islands Women’s Cricket team.
She spots a position in the 2021 Cricket West Indies high-performance training camp, which was being held in Antigua.
She secured a place in the West Indies “A” Team for a series against Pakistan.
