The Tourism Authority of Saint Lucia recently welcomed the inaugural Uber Soca Cruise to Port Castries on April 12, 2023. The cruise has a capacity of over 3000 passengers.

The Tourism Authority of Saint Lucia recently welcomed the inaugural Uber Soca Cruise to Port Castries on April 12, 2023. The cruise has a capacity of over 3000 passengers. Saint Lucia is observing a very successful cruise season in Saint Lucia for December 2022-23. They have welcomed several inaugural calls from reputable cruise lines in the last few months.

The Soca cruise departed San Juan on April 9 aboard Norwegian Epic. The Uber Soca Cruise will stop in St. Maarten, Saint Lucia at St. Thomas. The Uber Soca cruise will serve as a backdrop for a vibrant parade of bands that will get to sample the local Soca artists of Saint Lucia.

Meanwhile, prominent members of the tourism authority welcomed the cruise atop the Norwegian Epic. The members of the welcome party for the cruise ship included the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Donalyn Vittet. He presented the CEO of the Uber Soca Cruise, Nathaniel Turner and Co-founder, Jodi Lewis, with a hand-carved plaque by Eudovic’s Art Studio that depicts intimate attributes of Saint Lucia.

The Tourism Authority of Saint Lucia shared several images from the inaugural call of the Uber Soca Cruise. The cruise brought along a number of travellers to Port Castries. Through this cruise, thousands of people got the chance to experience the hospitability, beauty and cultural prowess of The Country.

On Wednesday, 3500 revelers departed Point Seraphine and took to the John Compton Highway to experience the sweet sounds of Soca music. Notably, the entertaining music was played by some of the island’s top deejays along the carnival route. Guests experienced the creativity of the people of Saint Lucia during their trip to the island. The “Taste of Saint Lucia Village” came alive with a jam session that included performances by Saint Lucia’s very own, Ezra, Ricky-T, Dhirv, Surbance, Cooyah, and DYP.

During their escapade to the Island of Saint Lucia, the guests also got the chance to sample some well-known delicacies offered by the island, including pigtail bouillon, green fig and saltfish, fish broth, veggie soup, creole bread, and coconut cakes
