Saint Lucia set to host College and Career fair

Castries, Saint Lucia: Citizens of Saint Lucia will attend the College and Career Fair on October 26, 2023, under the theme, “Unlocking your Potential and Opening Doors to Endless Possibilities: Creating a Path to Success.”

The Department of Education, Innovation and Vocational Training will host the event at the Conference Room of the Finance Administrative Centre in Pointe Seraphine at Castries.

Timings of the Fair

• The event will be open for the public from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023
• And on Friday, October 27, time will be fixed from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

The fair will provide an opportunity to the participating regional, local and international institutions such as,

1. To form corporate relationships with local agencies or institutions
2. Allow experienced experts and professionals to gain knowledge on various professions for students
3. Recruit of prospective students
4. Provide guidance and knowledge on financing opportunities for higher education
5. Provide participants with an excellent platform to network and build bond with the students
6. Market their institution and their portfolio of programmes

Prospective students and visitors are informed to meet one-on-one with the representatives from various participating institutions to get easy access to first-hand information that will support them in the following:

– Discovering the diversity of higher education available

– Making informed decisions about advancing their education

– Limiting the amount of time spent when they are looking for educational opportunities of advanced level and money spent on the time of applying to tertiary institution

– Providing career guidance sessions, which will be held through structured assessing their skills, interests, career decisions, lifestyle and values preferences

– To ensure that the students are in line with their desired career goals or aims

The people are expected to attend the fair on the given dates and times designated to meet with the advisors and recruiters from the numerous participating institutions.
