Saint Lucia hosts Blaze-in-Blue Challenge, celebrates Tourism Week
The Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia extended congratulations to the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) for emerging victory in the exciting Blaze-in-Blue Challenge Competition.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Blaze-in Blue Challenge has graced the stage of the celebration of the Tourism Week of Saint Lucia. The Tourism Authority announced the results and greeted the winners of the competition.
The Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia extended congratulations to the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) for emerging victory in the exciting Blaze-in-Blue Challenge Competition.
The Blaze-in-Blue Challenge is one of those engaging activities which took place during the week-long festivities for Tourism Week 2023.
It is to be noted that the competition was conducted on Thursday, 28th September 2023, where the public was encouraged to wear blue in solidarity with developing sustainable tourism.
Ministry of Tourism officers presented the Cultural Development Foundation with a prestigious relaxation package inclusive of body massages, pedicures, facials and other spa treatments at two luxurious resorts.
Along with that, the Ministry of Tourism appreciated and recognized the Cultural Development Foundation for boldly supporting the industry by Blazing in Blue.
Moreover, the Ministry also extended gratitude to all the participants and organizations who not only participated in this event but also made it a huge success through their contributions.
They also expressed delight to Saint Lucia Tourism Authority and Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association for their collaboration in Tourism Week 2023.
The Ministry of Tourism also asked the citizens to mark their calendars for the upcoming Blaze-in-blue challenge in September 2024. The authorities encouraged the residents to make this year another memorable celebration of Tourism.
Tourism Week 2023
Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information of Saint Lucia celebrated World Tourism Week from 24th to 30th September 2023. The tourism week was celebrated under the theme “Tourism and Green Investment.” The theme shed light on taking such measures in order to create a greener and sustainable future for the island nation.
The celebration began on 24th September last year with Church Service. The service was conducted at Babonneau Good Shepherd Parish. The next event was followed by Community Tourism – A Day in Micoud, where the tourists explored different experiences and heard testimonials.
On 26th September, a Tourism Policy Round Table was held where the Minister of Government discussed various policy measures on the theme “Tourism and Green Investment” live on all the GIS platforms.
World Tourism Day was celebrated on 27th September 2023, and Saint Lucia hosted Culinary Showdown, seasoned vs unseasoned, where people got a chance to exhibit their talent. The next day, Saint Lucians blazed in blue as the citizens were asked to wear blue to work or anywhere in support of the Tourism Sector.
On 29th September, a documentary on green investments was undertaken by tourism establishments. The session was conducted with a theme of Industry Perspectives- Going Green to Stay Clean. An initiative by the administration of National Beach Clean-up followed the event. It was a nationwide effort at environmental conversation with the usage of resources for the betterment of the future.
The last day of the tourism week was concluded with a friendly football game between Private and Public Futsal. The game was conducted in order to build camaraderie among the stakeholders of the island nation.
World Tourism Day
World Tourism Day is celebrated on 27th September every year. It is being celebrated with the motive of fostering economic growth, environmental sustainability and inclusive development of the nation.
