Saint Lucia DPM Ernest Hilaire shares glimpse of Day 2 of Showcase 2023

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia – Dr Ernest Hilaire, shared a glimpse of another day of Showcase 2023.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia – Dr Ernest Hilaire, shared a glimpse of another day of Showcase 2023. He outlined that one more day of successful Showcase 2023 has ended.

Minister took his official social media account to inform Saint Lucians about the conclusion of the day. Emphasising the perfect time to book a ticket to Saint Lucia, he mentioned, “It feels like summer is coming to an end, and it is time to book that Saint Lucian vacation! There was a slight chill over London this morning. Yesterday was another successful day of Showcase 2023.”

Furthermore, he shared that the two main events included hosting a lunch for the travel media and content creators. Over 25 media persons got updates on developments in Saint Lucia and an opportunity to engage with officials on issues in Saint Lucia.

In addition to this, in the evening, over 70 travel agents received presentations from a number of travel partners from Saint Lucia on their product offerings.

Deputy Prime Minister mentioned, “We were joined by Export Saint Lucia, as part of the Brand Saint Lucia initiative, to share with agents and other travel industry representatives the efforts and offerings of Export Saint Lucia.”

He further mentioned that in between, we met with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA). This is a trade association for UK travel agents, tour operators and the wider travel industry. It is over 70 years old.

“Our discussions focussed on many issues, including our sustainability policies and plan. We stated our commitment to reorient our tourism industry to ensure social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability,” he added.

Minister of Tourism also mentioned, “This commitment is rooted in our philosophical belief that the tourism industry can only survive if it is sustainable. Another exciting day looms ahead.”

Showcase 2023 is being held in London, the United Kingdom, from September 11 to 15, 2023.
