Rehabilitation work on Chaudborg Hill to commence on March 18

Castries, Saint Lucia: Major rehabilitation work will commence on the La Croix Chaudborg Hill in Babonneau and is scheduled to begin on March 18, 2024. Therefore, the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport urged the public to be aware and exercise extra caution when transversing the area.

The planned renovation work includes the removal of the existing road surface and transformation to improve the present condition of the road. The Ministry informed citizens that they have put up traffic signs to guide the drivers and pedestrians to ensure their safety.

Notably, the government of Saint Lucia took to their official social media handle (Facebook) to share the update of rehabilitation work with the people in the Federation.

“The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport wishes to inform the public that rehabilitation works will commence on the La Croix Chaudborg Hill in Babonneau from March 18. The estimated completion date for these works is April 18”, the authorities added.

The monitoring people are advised to be prepared for the forthcoming days and it is mandatory to follow the navigation throughout the construction area.

Noting this, the department assures the people that they will adopt every possible measure in their power to minimize any inconvenience that may occur as a result of this undertaking, especially residents who live within the vicinity of the projected area.

“The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that every effort is being made to expedite the completion of the project”, the government remarked.

The officials expressed their commitment to the smooth working of the project in Babonneau while minimizing disturbance in the daily lives of the people.

It is to be noted that the work is expected to be completed by April 18, 2024. The authorities, along with the efforts of constructors are committed towards their work and asked for public cooperation until the work has been properly done.

The rehabilitation work indicates the continuous efforts of the government of Saint Lucia to provide citizens with a better place to live.
