On Friday, April 28th, 2023, the NACOSH Annual Award Ceremony occurred at the Pegasus Hotel, Guyana.

                                                    Georgetown, Guyana: The Labour Ministry of Guyana has informed the general public that several individuals and organisations were honoured by the (NACOSH) – National Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for their employees.
According to the update, on Friday, April 28th, 2023, the NACOSH Annual Award Ceremony occurred at the Pegasus Hotel. Joseph Hamilton, Minister of Labour; Permanent Secretary, Bishram Kuppen; Occupational Safety & Health Consultant, Gweneth King; National Advisory Council on Occupational Safety & Health, Chairman Earl Morris; and other officials were in attendance.
Minister Hamilton expressed his gratitude to the beneficiaries in his feature address for realising the necessity of creating a safe and healthy workplace to ensure the lives of their employees, which he hopes they will continue to do.
He stated that the number of workplace fatalities has been decreasing since he took office in August 2020, thanks to the efforts of the ministry’s Occupational Safety and Health Department. The minister stated that with the backing of a complete system and collaborative efforts with critical stakeholders, this progress will continue to improve the safety and health of all employees.
The Ministry of Labour also informed that a strategic plan is now being developed with the assistance of a Public Relations and Communications Consultant in order to have more in-depth Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) discussions.
