He further mentioned, “To my grandmothers, the teachers and caregivers who helped shape my upbringing and that of every citizen, I express my gratitude. May all your lives be blessed with kindness, good health, happiness and fulfilment. Happy Mother’s Day!”
Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, stated, “On this day dedicated to celebrating the incredible strength, love, and devotion of mothers, I honour my wife, Juliet, for the immense impact she has had on my life and our children’s lives.”
He further mentioned, “As a mother, Juliet has poured her heart into nurturing and guiding our children. Her unconditional love, patience, and dedication have played a pivotal role in shaping them into the remarkable individuals they are today. Her role as a mother extends far beyond our own family. She has been a source of inspiration to countless mothers and families across Jamaica. She is a woman of extraordinary grace, intelligence, and compassion, and we are truly blessed to have her in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day!”
Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, also joined the league and outlined, “On this special day, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all mothers for their unwavering love, support, and devotion. Your strength and resilience inspire us all, and we are grateful for the countless sacrifices you make every day.”
He further addressed, “To all the mothers out there, particularly the Saint Lucian mothers, I wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. May your day be filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories with your loved ones.”
Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, penned down a lengthy and emotional post on his official Facebook post. He mentioned, “Today, Mother’s Day, is when we celebrate Motherhood and give honour for the sacrifice, love, and effort of those who gave us life. I like to think of it as a Thanksgiving Day specifically for Mothers, the pillars of our families…the binding force that keeps the family intact.”
PM Drew also noted, “The very word mother conjures up memories of love and care. I am filled with gratitude as I am also mindful of the many mothers who extend themselves to their limits to love and support their families. My mother, Ras Gerzel “Pet” Mills, is a perfect example of such selfless love. Anyone who knows me knows that I cherish my mother dearly. She taught me to learn from mistakes, to fight for what I believe in, and to care for others. She is the only constant in this changing world. As a single mother, she has sacrificed tremendously to love and support her family. With the little that she had, she made a huge difference in our lives. Her love for us is immeasurable, and she always remains protective of us. It is indeed true that a mother is the first philosopher, guide, teacher, and friend.”
“Happy Mother’s Day to All Mothers,” he concluded.
