Mas Domnik,‘The Real Mas’, opens at Windsor Park Sports Stadium

Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Tourism hosted the opening ceremony of Mas Domnik, ‘The Real Mas’, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on January 6, 2024. The ongoing carnival will conclude on February 17.

People joined the celebration and immersed themselves in the most original Carnival of the Caribbean. Moreover, the carnival also offers accessories for the kids who are going to take part in it.

It is to be noted that the Ministry of Tourism has ensured that the carnival will cater for the needs of people from all age groups.

The parade display or crossing of the field at Windsor Park was a treat for tourists. The front-row seat witnessed Dominica’s Traditional and Contemporary Mas in all its glory.

Moreover, the carnival offered free tickets and seats to children of 12 years old and under at the opening ceremony. The Dominica Ministry of Tourism took to its official Facebook handle to share glimpses of the Mas Domnik.

Additionally, it is for the first time ever in Dominica that the celebration of events was taken to new heights with the crossing of the Field at Windsor Park Sports Stadium. Notably, the event was a high-class view spectacle that left the people in awe.

Interestingly, the wrapping opening was concluded with a Band Meet Band Performance by Triple Kay International, Signal Band and more that will keep the rhythm alive and the energy soaring.

Moreover, the Real Mas’s first live press conference took place on January 3, 2024, on Dominica Festivals and the Ministry of Tourism’s social media pages. The Dominican Carnival will run from January 6 to February 17.

It is to be noted that the carnival is traditionally celebrated in Dominica during the entire month of February and part of March. The parades are held every Sunday in different constituencies throughout the country.
