The police officers of Los Angeles incidentally shot down a 14-year-old girl while firing a suspect on Thursday. The accused was trying to escape by assaulting a woman when the Los Angeles police shot him down.

The girl was in the dressing room of the clothing store during the time when the police accidentally shot her down. The incident took place around 11:45 am at a Burlington store.

While addressing the media cited, Los Angeles police Captain Stacy Spell informing the incident noted that the officers started an open fire when they saw the culprit assaulting a woman. The lady was taken to the hospital facility.

During another conference, LAPD Assistant Chief Dominic Choi further asserted that one of the bullets hit the teenager through the dressing room wall, adding, the police later came to know that there was a girl inside the changing room.

You cannot see into the dressing rooms, and it just looks like a straight wall of drywall“, he noted, justifying the action of police officials.

Attorney General Rob Bonta stated that the California Department of Justice is probing the incident and has not issued any statement yet regarding the shooting.

The police authorities have found a heavy metal cable lock near the suspect’s dead body, and it is estimated that he would have used it while he assaulted the woman.

Spell informed the injured lady was the victim in the first assault report. It was not immediately transparent what weapon was involved in the assault.

After two hours of the shooting, the police officers escorted the people out of the store. Police had acquired calls about the accused acting erratically before the incident took place.

Although the police officials have not revealed the identities of the accused, assaulted woman and the 14-year-old teenager amid security reasons.
