Julien Alfred visits London, highlights good relations between UK and Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia’s star athlete, Julien Alfred performed her duties and responsibilities as the Tourism Ambassador during her visit to London. She engaged in several meetings and exchanged significant dialogues, cultivating the Saint Lucian essence in global beings at an international platform.
During her visit to London, Alfred first addressed members of the British Parliament and thanked the delegates for their long-standing friendship and partnership with Saint Lucia.
Alfred shed light on relations between UK and Saint Lucia and stated that their collaboration has always played a huge role in contributing to shared goals, culture and people. She also mentioned about several challenges being faced by the island nation such as climate change, health issues, obstacles in education sector and many more.
She stated that the people of the country truly deserve robust health services and quality education which are fundamental to building a thriving society. Therefore, she urged the delegates to continue their support for the island nation.
Alfred stated that through such collaborative efforts and with support from UK, they aim to enhance sustainable development with a vision to protect their environment. “I do want to say again thank you for your steadfast friendship to Saint Lucia, and together, we can achieve remarkable things.”
Julien Alfred also engaged with young students of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and All Saints Catholic College in London and motivated them to pursue and follow their dreams and passion. This visit by the Olympic double medallist turned out to be a great opportunity for the children to connect with a renowned athlete and learn several teachings to succeed in their lives.
Following that, Alfred visited a drama studio where she was warmly welcomed by a steel pan performance. During her visit, she interacted with students, where she indulged in Q&A session and answered all the questions.
She later concluded her day with media interviews where she held a conversation with Deputy Head Paul Walton and conducted healthy discussions on inspiring the next generation of athletes and leaders.
Moreover, Julien Alfred was interviewed by one of the renowned news channels of United Kingdom where she shed light on her exceptional journey. She also shared all the challenges faced by her on her path to winning an Olympic medal for her nation and much more. She answered all the questions with grace, showcasing her potential to represent Saint Lucia as a Tourism Ambassador with pride and honesty on an international stage.
