Julien Alfred receives grand welcome following victory in World Championship from Saint Lucians
Julien Alfred is all set to receive a grand-welcome on Friday, 5th April 2024 for returning to her homeland for the first time following her remarkable victory in the 60-meter at World Athletics Indoor championship.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia’s sprint queen Julien Alfred made a return to the island nation after her victory at the World Athletics Indoor Championship. The citizens of the island nation gave a huge welcome to her in order to celebrate her historic victory.
Recently Julien Alfred made a remarkable win at World Athletics Indoor Championship 2024 as she claimed the first ever gold medal for Saint Lucia.
The people of Saint Lucia welcomed their sprint queen by getting dressed up in national colours to celebrate her return. Thousands of citizens gathered at Hewanorra International Airport to celebrate the occasion of their return to the island nation.
The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, conducted a special reception in order to celebrate Julien Alfred’s welcome. He hosted the reception party at his residence on Friday.
PM Pierre took to his official Facebook account and shared glimpses of his meeting with her and extended gratitude to her for giving the entire nation an opportunity to celebrate this moment.
“Congratulations again Julien Alfred on your gold medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships. Today you gave our country an opportunity to celebrate with you and we are grateful,” noted PM Philip J Pierre.
PM Pierre also asked Julien to remain focused towards her goals and continue to inspire several athletes who are willing to attain this achievement.
The citizens of Saint Lucia have always lauded her for her continuous efforts towards her goals. She is setting an example for the upcoming generation and athletes of Saint Lucia with her remarkable victories.
Her journey has always been a source of inspiration to all the young athletes to strive hard to achieve their goals.
She is also all set to launch her much-awaited foundation, the Julien Alfred Foundation on Saturday. This foundation will play a significant role in fostering her community and inspiring future generations who aspire to become athletes and represent their nation.
