Jamaica: Two-armed men steals JM$100,000, pistol and other valuables
Two-armed men entered the 35-year-old businessman’s establishment and robbed him of JM$100,000, a licensed pistol and some valuables. The incident is reported to have taken place on Tuesday in Annotto Bay, St Mary, Jamaica.

                                                    St Mary, Jamaica: Two-armed men entered the 35-year-old businessman’s establishment and robbed him of JM$100,000, a licensed pistol and some valuables. The incident is reported to have taken place on Tuesday in Annotto Bay, St Mary.
The victim has been identified as Jinlong Liao, proprietor of JinLong Supermarket. As per the reports shared by the officers, the victim was in his balcony when two suspects, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife entered the place.
The robbers armed with knives and firearms tied up and assaulted the businessman to find where the money, firearm, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages were kept in the place.
Following that, both the suspects conducted a search of the entire premises and the business place and stole several things including, JM$100,000, jewellery worth US$3500, cellular phones valued at JM$300,000 and Liao’s licensed Glock 17 9mm pistol with a magazine and 16 rounds.
Subsequently, the robbers made a good escape from the area. Soon after the incident, the officers of the St Mary Criminal Investigations Bureau were alerted and they responded to the matter and commenced their investigation. During that, the officers recovered some of the stolen items from the nearby place where the incident took place.
The investigators are still probing the matter in detail in order to find those two-armed men who robbed a businessman.
Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the incident. One person commented, “Sad but thank God he still has life, the robber will definitely be the person who knows him well and knows the whereabouts of his house and place.”
Another person commented the following “What matters the most is that the person is safe and has not got any kind of severe injury, the officers should arrest those two suspects soonest so that they could not conduct any other robbery.”
The residents of the community have requested the authorities to take stringent measures in order to tackle the increasing crime rate with the motive to bring peace and prosperity to the nation.
