Jamaica: Three detained in connection with the murder of a 34-year-old
A juvenile and two men were detained in connection with the murder of Robert Rowe, 34-year-old who was residing in Ricketts Street, Savanna-La-mar in Westmoreland.

Kingston, Jamaica: A juvenile and two men were detained in connection with the murder of Robert Rowe, 34-year-old who was residing in Ricketts Street, Savanna-La-mar in Westmoreland.
Rowe was murdered on October 7, 2021. 21-one-year-old Deniel Williams, otherwise known as ‘Dendo’, of Ricketts Street, Savanna-La-Mar, has been charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
While a 35-year-old Rickal Barrett, otherwise known as – ‘Tuggy-Tuggy’, of Sellington District in Black River, St Elizabeth, and a 15-year-old boy is also booked for similar charges.
According to the reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police officials, Rowe was driving his Toyota motorcar at around 4:10 pm when he was pounced upon by the trio who opened gunfire, hitting him in the upper body.
He was then immediately taken to the – hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Both the men, along with the juvenile, were detained in a police operation at their home on Ricketts Street in the parish on Tuesday, October 12, while Barrett was arrested by the police authorities on Monday, October 25. All of them were officially charged on Sunday.
Although, the reason for the murder has yet not been cleared by the accused. No further information has been given by the Police authorities, and they have promised to seek justice for the deceased.
The crime rate in Jamaica –
The crime rate is spearheading in the Caribbean region. The reports have shown that between last Friday and Saturday, eight individuals were murdered in St James, St Catherine and in Clarendon.
The increasing crime rate is a red alarm for the government of Jamaica and can affect its tourism sector, which will eventually affect the island’s economy.
Jamaica’s general public is now living in fear seeing the hike in murder cases. The island is also seeing a steady increase in road accidents.
