Jamaica: PM Andrew Holness shares glimpse of meeting of Senate President with Brazilian president

Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness shared a glimpse of the meeting of Senate President Tom Tavares Finson with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. While sharing a glimpse of the meeting, he thanked the president for representing him at the inauguration of President Lula.

The post by the Prime Minister mentioned that President of the Senate, Tom Tavares Finson and his wife, Rose met with President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife, Rosângela da Silva.

He further expressed, “Senator Tavares Finson represented me at President Lula’s inauguration. Jamaica and Brazil have a strong connection, and we continue to build on this.”

Both leaders discussed ways to strengthen diplomatic relations between both countries. Diplomatic relations between Jamaica and Brazil have been growing steadily since the countries established formal ties in 1965. The two countries share a commitment to regional cooperation and the advancement of the Caribbean and Latin American regions.
